  • Along the Kali Gandaki river furrow dug in between the Annapurna Massif on one side and the Dhaulagiri Range on the other, this program will allow you to discover the semi arid region of this big plateau and to approach the rich Thakali culture of these traders. Day hiking are easy and upon arrival at Jomsom airport, you will experience peace and be stunned by the majesty of Nilgiri peak towering the landscape. You will haike to Thasang, a very peaceful high quality lodge. The next two days will be dedicated to discovering local villages and Titi and Bhuchorcho glacial lakes. The program continues returning to Jomsom and a delightful stay at Jomsom Mountain Resort. The next hike will take you to Kagbeni, the last village before entering the ancient hidden Mustang kingdom. From Kageni, after being well acclimatized you hike to Muktinath, a famous pilgrimage spot at 3800m. On the way back to Jomsom, a last visit is dedicated to the village of Lupra and its Bon-po monastery. During 12 nights you will experience various tastes of legendary Nepalese hospitality.

    Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu
    On arrival in Kathmandu, after you have passed through Customs and Immigration, you will be met by our airport representative at the airport and will be welcomed with garlands of flower and taken on a short drive to the Gokarna Forest Resort, which is your comfortable base for your first night. Then you’ll be served with welcome drink and our officer will start briefing about your programs, will collect necessary documents for permit for the trekking.

    Gokarna Forest Resort is located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former private Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature.

    Further on exotic Forest View cottage rooms are set beside a century old restored Hunter’s lodge. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for a few days of golf, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, enchanting forest walks, and time close to nature.

    Day 2 Flight: Kathmandu- Pokhara (25 minutes flight by Jetstream-41)
    After breakfast, we transfer to the airport before 1.5 hours of your flight time for the flight about 25 minutes to Pokhara by Yeti Airlines. This flight follows the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Massif before entering the Central region where Annapurna massif is towering the city of Pokhara. After your arrival at Pokhara Airport you will be welcome at the airport exit by Temple Tree Resort’s representative. Temple Tree Resort & Spa is a boutique hotel combining western standards with the distinctive architecture and culture of Nepal’s Western Himalayas. Named after the fragrant temple tree plant frangipani found here, we offer a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, privacy when preferred and attentive service. You can relax from your tiring trekking and walk alongside the lake or do shopping in the several shops near the lake.

    Day 3 Flight: Pokhara – Jomsom (40 minutes flight by Twin Otter of Tara Air)
    After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the local airport about 1.5 hrs before your departure time. The flight takes you above the forested area of Ghorepani then over the Kali Gandaki Valley in between the Dhaulagiri range in the west and the Annapurna massif in the east. What a spectacular flight.

    Hike to Thasang Lodge. 5hrs
    Upon arrival in Jomsom your hike will start downstream the river passing through the beautiful large Thakali village of Marpha huddled behind a ridge for protection from the wind. Further on the route crosses Tukuche village, another beautiful Thakali place. It was once the most important Thakali village, the meeting place where traders coming with salt and wood from Tibet bartered with traders carrying grains from the south. Further on the trail crosses Kobang and Larjung.

    Nestled in the river valley of the Kaligandaki, Lodge Thasang Village receives the blessings of the glorious mountains of the Himalayan range from all four directions. The view from the lodge encompasses the best views of the magnificent Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and the vast river valley below where the winds dance and the river twirls. It is where sounds from the bells of passing herds of cattle and the gush of the winds transform into music; and the physical reality of the landscape, a transcendental art. Life amidst the presence of the four gods of the region is as rich and real as it can be and it is here we have created a home for you to be a part of life in the Thasang village.

    Day 4 Hike around Thasang
    The next two day's program will be excursions planned with picnic lunches to explore and indulge in the absolute marvel of nature and one of the best kept secret places of the Annapurna region. The quaint farming village of Bujurkot remains quite untouched and original. The whole day will be spent exploring the area with ample opportunity to study the people and their culture and at the same time to walk up to a viewing hill point to capture the best possible views of the magnificent surrounding mountains.

    Day 5 Day excursion to Titi and Bhucchorcho Lakes ( 5-6hrs)
    Full day excursion with picnic lunch to Titi and Bhucchorcho Lake. Through rhododendron forests, which are in full bloom from April through May, to the glacial lakes. The views along the way of the Mt. Annapurna 1, Dhaulagiri and the Tucche peak are terrific. Return to lodge.
    Overnight: Thasang Village.

    Day 6 Trekking back to Jomsom
    We retrace our steps back on the same trail to reach Jomsom where we have chosen Jomsom Mountain Resort for the best accommodation.
    Jomsom Mountain Resort is located at a High Himalayan settlement of Thakali speaking people. At 8,800 ft.(2,800 m) the Resort is among the few places in Nepal where giant Himalayan peaks can be admired safely and yet at such close proximity.
    About 500 feet below the resort is the Kali Gandaki river which flows downstream to form the deepest gorge in the world (Guinness Book of World Records). The most breathtaking sight of all is right in front of the resort.
    Every room offers unparalleled view of the majestic Nilgiri mountain (7061 m). If you love the mountains and are also environmentally conscious about their preservation, then this is the holiday you've been dreaming about.     Day 7 Trekking to Kagbeni 3h
    OWith Nilgiri (7108m) towering Jomsom, wind blowing from south to north, the route goes upstream the Kali Gandaki wide riverbed to reach Kagbeni, the gateway of Mustang. It’s a green oasis at the junction of the Jhong Khola and the Kali Gandaki. Kagbeni looks like a town out of the medieval past, with closely packed mud houses, dark alleys and a large, ochre-colored gompa perched above the town.

    Day 8 Excursion to Muktinath 4h
    The trail from Kagbeni makes a steep climb up the Jhong Khola Valley to Khingar through country that is arid and desert-like, in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. The striking yellows of the bare hillsides contrast dramatically with the blue sky, white peaks, and splashes of green where streams allow cultivation. The views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri are tremendous. From Khingar the path climbs up to Jharkot through meadows, streams, poplars and fruit trees. Jharkot is an impressive Tibetan village at 3500 metres with its red monastery on top of a rock. The trail continues up to Muktinath with its religious shrines, important pilgrimage place for both Buddhists and Hindus. The Hindu temple is dedicated to Vishnu. Around the temple is a wall from which 108 waterspouts, cast in the shape of cows’ heads, pour forth sacred water.
    On the same route we retrace our steps back to kagbeni Annapurna lodge.

    Day 9 Trekking to Jomsom via Lupra 5h
    On the same trail taken on day 6 we retrace our steps back to Jomsom till The few lodges of Eklebhatti. You will take on your left to reach the peaceful village of Lupra, well-known by its Bon-po monastery. After lunch and visit of the remote village, you hike back to Jomsom.

    Day 10 Flight: Jomsom - Pokhara – Kathmandu
    Early in the morning you will be transferred to the airport about 1.5 hrs before your departure time. The Twin Otter will fly you over the Kali Gandaki Valley in between the majestic Annapurna Range and the Dhaulagiri massif. In Pokhara you have to board another plane for Kathmandu.

    Day 11 Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing
    This day is fully sightseeing day and souvenir shopping day. You will visit around the local, markets, most popular sights of Nepal like Bhoudhanath, Bhaktapur & Pasupatinath.

    Pashupatinath (crematory temple): Hindus holiest temple situated at the bank of Bagmanti River, 5 km away from the downtown of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees converge here on an annual pilgrimage on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the night of Lord Shiva falls in the month February. Entrance into the templeprecincts is permitted only for the Hindus but other can clearly see the temple and rituals beings performed inside from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.The temple was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in 1797.

    Boudhhanath Stupa: Holiest Buddhist stupa of Nepal located at 6 km away from downtown Kathmandu. It was built in fifth century by Lichhavi king Karna Dev. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of Stupa design. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is kept. Boudhanath a World Heritage Site is also known as Khasti.

    There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area.

    Bhaktapur Durbar Square: This complex of palaces, courtyards, and temples were built in the 12th to 18th centuries used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu situated at 12 km from Kathmandu in Baktapur district. An intriguing piece here is the 17th century stone inscription set in to the wall of the palace with writing in 15 languages. Durbar Square is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city.

    Lunch during the tour and dinner at the evening is included.

    Day 12 Free day in Kathmandu
    Today is fully free for relaxing and souvenirs shopping. Dinner included in Gokarna Resort.

    Day 13 Departure from Kathmandu
    Upon your international flight time, we will transfer you to the airport 3hrs before your departure time.
