This two week unique program offers you a discovery of Annapurna and Everest: the two mountains that made the fame of Nepal and are still the most visited areas for trekking. Trekking days are short and accommodation has been given top priority by selecting the best ones in both areas.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu you will be transferred by drive to Gokarna Forest Resort, a paradisiacal place far away from bustling Kathmandu. On next day you will reach Pokhara by flight and after a short drive start to walk through typical villages amidst sub-tropical vegetation. At the end of the short trek you will fly back to Kathmandu and on the next day by another flight you will reach the Sherpa land for completely different scenery: different ethnic groups, different dress and different environment. At the end of each day you will enjoy resting in Yeti Mountain Home, sipping tea or coffee by the fire with snow capped peaks towering the scenery. Before departure one day visit of very rich cultural places in the Kathmandu Valley will make your program complete.

Day 02 : Flight: Kathmandu- Pokhara (25 minutes flight by Jetstream-41)
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport before 1.5 hours of your flight time for the flight about 25 minutes to Pokhara by Yeti Airlines. This flight follows the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Massif before entering the Central region where Annapurna massif is towering the city of Pokhara. After your arrival at Pokhara Airport you will be welcome at the airport exit by Ker & Downey Lodge representative. Day 02 Drive to Lumle , Trek 1 > Birethanti (1100m)
Ker & Downey staff will drive you to Lumle, about 30 km away from Pokhara and starting point of the trek. Leaving the road, you can start walking on a level trail crossing Gurung village of Lumle at 1585m. The trail follows the flagstone-paved main street. Beyond Lumle, the trail rounds a bend and descends to Chandrakot, which is perched on the end of a ridge at 1550m. The views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare are excellent from this point. From there the trail descends a steep, dusty trail that switchbacks to the Modi Khola. Passing a few houses near the river, the route crosses a suspension bridge. On the far side of the bridge is Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. Overnight in Sanctuary Lodge(B L D).
Day 03 :Day 03 Trek > Majgaun (1400m)
The trail crosses the Modi Khola on a suspension bridge then makes some ups and downs through terraced fields to reach Majgaun. There will be a talk at a local house half an hour from the lodge to Tanchok, now made into a museum. The contents of the house illustrate how the local people live, together with the tools and implements of day to day traditional village life. Overnight in Gurung Lodge(B L D).
Day 04 : Trek > Dhampus (1650m)
After a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna South and Fishtail you enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then the trail climbs up to a short pass at about 2000m, going through forests of oaks and rhododendrons. Beyond the pass the trail descends to Dhampus, a large Gurung village strung out along a ridge. From the ridge you are rewarded with great views of the Annapurna Range. Overnight in Basanta Lodge (B L D).
Day 05 :Trek > Phedi (1080m) , drive to Pokhara.
Leaving Dhampus the trail drops on a staircase through forested area and reaches a small plateau with nice terraced fields. From that point, the path drops again till the road down. After half an hour drive you will reach Pokhara Lakeside for a lunch on the lake side. According to flight schedule you might have time to enjoy boating on the calm lake with majestic Annapurna range towering. Fly to Kathmandu According to the flight schedule you will be driven to the airport about 1,5 hrs before the departure time. At Kathmandu you will be welcome at the airport exit by our staff. After a short transfer to Gokarna Resort you will enjoy relaxing and walking around in the forest. Dinner included.
Day 06 : Flight Kathmandu – Lukla (2800m).
Trek to Monjo (2800m). 4h
After a 40mn morning Twin Otter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gate of Khumbu. We meet our local staff at the airport and walk till the end of the village. The trail goes down steeply to cross a river with Kusum Kangaru at the back. The path climbs a bit, contours around a ridge to Ghat on the bank of the Dudh Kosi. Then it makes some ups and downs before reaching Phakding. The trail continues north of the Dudh Kosi valley, climbing through fields to Benkar with its huge mani stone in the centre of the trail. Then the trail climbs up through magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. Soon after Taktok, Thamserku Peak is on sight and further you reach Monjo. Overnight in Yeti Mountain Home in Monjo.
Day 07 : Monjo – Namche Bazar (3440m). 5h
The trail enters the Sagarmatha National Park at Jorsale. After crossing on a suspension bridge high over the Dudh kosi and Bhote Kosi confluence the trail makes a long climb till a ridge where there are first views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. The trail climbs steadily through forest to Namche, a town lying in a natural amphitheater protected from the weather and blessed with a major natural spring. Overnight in Yeti Mountain Home Namche.
Day 08 : Namche Bazaar – Thame (3800m) 4h
Leaving Namche, the trail goes through pine and rhododendron forests and crosses small villages such as Gangla, Phurte and Samshing, quite over the Bhote kosi valley and offers nice views of Kongde Ri. Reaching Thamo, there is a police check post and after the trail climbs steeply for a short while before becoming more gradual till Samde. The path is much less frequented now and we descend to a bridge before our last ascent to reach Thame, a typical Sherpa village, known for its famous climbers such as Ang Rita and Appa Sherpa.
There is a nice monastery to visit there. Overnight in Yeti Mountain Home in Thame.
Day 09 : Thame - Namche Bazar (3440m) 4h
We retrace our steps back to reach Namche.
Day 10 : Namche – Lukla (2800m)7h
We retrace our steps back to Phakding. On the same way we walked at the beginning we descend slowly to Ghat, cross the river enjoying views of Kusum Kangguru then we remember the descent of our first day trekking, but now it becomes an ascent till Lukla, end of this beautiful walk through khumbu area and we enjoy a last comfortable stay at YMH Lukla.
Day 11 : Flight Lukla – Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Early flight back to Kathmandu by Twin Otter and transfer toGokarna Forest Resort
Day 12 Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
Today is dedicated to the visit of the extremely rich valley with the medieval city of Bhaktapur -12km east of Kathmandu, the holiest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath alongside the Bagmati river, sacred place for cremations. Then after a last drive you will be taken to Boudhanath for a taste of Buddhism, circumambulating the huge stupa of Bodhnath along with the fervent devotees.
Day 13 Transfer to airport for return flight.
Upon your international flight time, we’ll transfer you to the international airport about 3 hrs before your flight departure.
